COURSE SCHEDULE
- Total Trainee: 12 per class
- Schedule: 09:00-17:00, 3 days
- Total Hours: 20 hours, 70% of the time is spent on teaching DP theory and 30% on practical exercises.
- Language: English with Chinese aids, will provide assistance to whom with difficult in English listening and understanding.
TARGET AUDIENC
Personnel who are in relation with design, development, construction or management of DP capable vessels, and who intend to obtain knowledge of DP system.
COURSE AIMS
At the end of the course the student should:
- Have acquired knowledge of the principles of DP.
- Have an understanding of the practical operation of associated equipment, including position reference systems.
- Be able to relate the DP installation to the ship system, including (but not limited to) power supply, manoeuvring facility, available position reference systems and nature of work.
- Be able to relate DP operations to the existing environmental conditions of wind, sea state current/tidal stream and vessel movement.
- Risks arising from DP operation and response.
COURSE TOPIC
This course involves both theory and practice on a simulated DP system and covers the following topics:
- Principles of DP.
- Elements of the DP system -Practical operation of the DP system -Position reference systems.
- Environment sensors and ancillary equipment.
- Power generation and supply and propulsion.
- DP operations, and risk assessment and evaluation.
- Responsibility of DPO in a task.
- Requirement related to DP operation by international organization IMO/IMCA/NI.
- FMEA, DP trial and proper approach
CERTIFICATION
The centre will issue with the trainee certificate of DP awareness after attendance of course.
